Form & Verdict
Dual hurdle winner; well beaten after racing too freely on seasonal/chase debut in October but fared much better when clear second to unexposed rival at Wincanton (1m7f, good) last month and will be suited by the slower ground here; good chance.

Form & Verdict
Promising novice hurdler last season and did very well to finish second on last month's chasing debut at Wetherby (1m7f, good), having made two notable jumping errors; has obvious scope for improvement if more fluent over the fences here.

Well treated on his good second to very useful Notlongtillmay at Wetherby (1m7f; chase debut) last November; however, nowhere near that form in three runs since, latest in a notable race returned to hurdles; bit to prove back up in distance.

Won a pair of novice hurdles two seasons ago but rather struggled over fences last term; ground could be an issue on stable debut (was with Tom Symonds) and others appear to hold stronger claims.

All three rules wins have come on good/good to soft and twice taken out of races on soft; the transition to fences hasn't been smooth and others are higher up the list; first-time cheekpieces fitted.

Form & Verdict
Won here (2m, good) on handicap hurdle debut in January and was also successful at Newbury (2m, soft) in March; no match for easy winner when second on seasonal/chase debut at Ffos Las (2m, good; bled from the nose) in October but still has potential and can't be ruled out.

Landed the Swinton at Haydock in 2023 and ran creditably in major summer handicap at Market Rasen (2m, good) four months ago; useful but remains on career-high mark and several of these rivals look better treated.

Last year's Swinton winner (off 6lb lower) who bumped into a well-treated rival when second of 18 at Cheltenham next time, before finishing fourth to Constitution Hill in the Christmas Hurdle; last season ended prematurely but there's a big run in him if back to best after a break.

Form & Verdict
Generally disappointing since comfortable hurdle win on British debut in October 2021; last month's seasonal/chase debut at Chepstow (2m, good) was encouraging but she didn't find much in the straight at Southwell (2m4f, good) 11 days ago and has more to prove than the others here.

Easily the most experienced over fences, and a 2m4f win here (good) off 17lb higher rounded off a spring 2024 hat-trick; no successes since, however, and it's a push to say this step up to 3m has long been needed.

Completed chase hat-trick in spring 2024 but generally disappointing since; May's second of three at Ludlow (2m4f, good) was encouraging but she's been soundly beaten since and was weak in the market when an early casualty over C&D last month; easy to look elsewhere.

Verdict

His tendency to race freely remains a slight concern but the likely front-runner CAP DU MATHAN (nap) was one of two runners who dominated a race at Wincanton last month and he could be difficult to catch here. Moriko De Vassy shrugged off two jolting blunders in the back straight to finish second on his chasing debut at Wetherby and can be dangerous if he avoids errors this time.[Chris Wilson]
