Form & Verdict
Won a 2m4 maiden hurdle two seasons ago for Henry de Bromhead; jumping frailties evident in two chase starts for his former trainer last season; made a reasonably promising start for this stable when fourth behind three useful types at Thurles nine days ago.

Well beaten behind Bal De Rio at Clonmel last time but was giving that rival 14lb then and more favourable terms today; not without hope.

Impressive winner of a maiden hurdle for Henry de Bromhead in 2020 but never fulfilled that early promise; tried chasing this season, only completing once but not devoid of promise; back over hurdles here but others preferred.

Form & Verdict
Dual course winner over hurdles on last two starts for Willie Mullins in 2020, both on heavy ground but over contrasting trips, 2m and extended 2m6f; tailed off in two runs over fences for this yard after a lengthy absence.

Useful sort for Willie Mullins but has been well-held when facing mostly stiff tasks for this yard; another one today and best passed over.

Two hurdle wins for Willie Mullins in 2020, obtaining a mark of 142; well beaten in six completed chase starts for his current stable, all in decent company; in touch when falling four out in a Grade 3 event here in January; should find things easier now in his first handicap.

Form & Verdict
2m4f Grade 3 winner here last season after winning a point, two bumpers and a maiden hurdle; held his own in Grade 1 races before a creditable third in the Martin Pipe at Cheltenham; never in the hunt in 3m Grade 1 at Punchestown on final outing; jumped well and made almost for a smooth C&D beginners' win last month; should be far too good for these three rivals.

Form & Verdict
Beat the top-clas Galopin Des Champs in a novice hurdle at Gowran two seasons ago; produced another fine performance when fourth in a valuable handicap hurdle at Leopardstown last winter; should be better for his run in a C&D beginners' event 13 days ago.

His main claim to fame is beating none other than Galopin Des Champs in a novice hurdle at Gowran two years ago; their respective careers have subsequently headed in very different directions and, while he fared respectably in some decent handicaps last season, his recent chase debut at Navan was fairly forgettable (at 28-1); this looks no easier.

Verdict

Gordon Elliott has provided the short-priced winner of this race in four of the last five seasons. His runner HOLLOW GAMES made a fine start over fences here last month and has a perfect opportunity to follow up. Sea Ducor may prove second-best. [Alan Sweetman]
